Mayor: Mike Stanfield

Mike Stanfield was the 2nd born child of the late John
(Rabbit) Stanfield and Mildred Stanfield, and has lived his entire life in
LaFollette. He has been married for over 35 years to his wife Vinnie
(Dobos). They have two children, Lisa, who is married to Brent Lester,
and a son, Shaun. Between their kids, they have three grandchildren;
Hunter, Chloe, Will, and Bella Hope.
Mike graduated from LaFollette High School, and was
drafted to Vietnam soon after graduation. After his two years of
active military service, he began working for the City of LaFollette's
Public Works Department while attending Roane State Community College at
night. Mike started out working for the City as a Laborer/Truck
Driver, and was later promoted to Heavy Equipment Operator. The last
few years of his employment with the Public Works Department, he became the
Operations Manager, and then held the position of the Head of the
Department.

Mike retired in 2006 with over 30 years of service.
However, he decided to run for office, and was elected to serve on the seat
of LaFollette's City Council, and as a natural progression, this past
November (2008), he was elected as the Mayor of the City of LaFollette.
Mike loves his City, and is looking forward to serving the taxpayers in a
whole new light.

Vice Mayor: Bob Fannon
Bob is the pharmacist and president of Riggs Drug store. Riggs Drug store presently have two stores in LaFollette, a store in Jacksboro, and a store of Emory Road in Knoxville. He is also the president of Riggs Hospital Supplies. Bob attended Samford University School of Pharmacy in Birmingham Alabama and graduated in 1971. Three years later Bob moved to LaFollette where he still currently resides.
Bob was first elected to City Council in 1996, and is presently serving his second term. While on City Council he has assisted with the building of a new post office and elementary school. He is also a supporter of recreational activities and with the acquisition of the West LaFollette School site more recreational activities will exist for people of all ages. Bob has also assisted with the current building of a recreational complex next to the new elementary school. Bob also desires to see sidewalks built on every City street to keep children and motorists safe from harm. He would also like too see improvements in the Police and Fire departments. He would like to have more police officers patrolling the streets and better training equipment for the firefighters. Bob hopes that a new Library will be built that will have the best technology available at the time and that the technological needs will continue to progress. He also wants all City streets to be paved in a seven year cycle or as needed to maintain smooth driving conditions for motorists.
